International Digital High Court, 50 Forum, and DAMA China Jointly Launch the Trusted Data Space Initiative to Empower All Industries, Co-building Cross-border and Industry Standards

With the acceleration of digital transformation, data has become a foundational strategic resource and a key element of new productive forces. In response to the national policy call for establishing a unified and efficient data market, the International Institute of Advanced Data Management Studies (IIADMS), Global Data Elements 50 Forum, and DAMA China have spent over a decade exploring and practicing, successfully building the foundational architecture for trustworthy data spaces. Now, with mature technical capabilities, they are poised to empower industries in constructing internationally standardized trustworthy data spaces.

Currently, the National Data Administration has officially defined three types of trustworthy data space initiatives:

1.Urban Trustworthy Data Spaces: Designed for smart city development and governance, these platforms enable comprehensive data sharing and exchange across municipal departments to enhance interoperability.

2.Enterprise Trustworthy Data Spaces: Provide secure environments for internal data management and external collaboration, improving data utilization efficiency and competitiveness.

3.Industry-Specific Trustworthy Data Spaces: Tailored to sectoral needs, they establish specialized data governance frameworks to elevate industry-wide capabilities

In response to the call for building trustworthy data spaces, the International Institute of Advanced Data Management Studies (IIADMS), the Global Data Elements 50 Forum, and DAMA China will focus on the following two initiatives in the near future:

I. Offline Symposium

On February 15, 2025, DAMA China will host an offline symposium in Guangzhou, inviting experts from renowned domestic and international institutions, including the SCO Data Asset Integrated Service Professional Committee (Preparatory), the International Institute of Advanced Data Management Studies, and the Global Data Elements 50 Forum. The symposium will delve into the following key topics:

Cross-Border Trustworthy Data Space Rule Co-Development:
Explore the establishment of universal data exchange standards and technical specifications across different countries and regions to ensure secure and transparent data flows.

Global Data Literacy Talent Learning Platform:
Launch an AI-driven Data Asset Manager training platform to cultivate a large pool of professional data management talents, addressing industry gaps.

RWA Digital Asset Trading Platform Rules:
Build a bridge connecting physical assets and the digital world, offering investors new channels and enhancing capital market liquidity.

These initiatives will be implemented through the SCO Data Asset Integrated Service Professional Committee (Preparatory), providing services to all member units. Enterprises and institutions are welcome to join the platform to co-establish global rules and contribute to service delivery.

II. Industry Empowerment Initiative

Starting in 2025, DAMA China will actively support various industries in organizing vertical-sector trustworthy data space seminars and formulating detailed implementation plans. Current scheduled events include (but are not limited to):

Mining Industry Trustworthy Data Space Seminar initiated by Shanxi Data Commerce Group.

Metaverse Trustworthy Data Space Seminar initiated by Shenzhen New Quality Productivity Association.

Industry leaders are invited to collaborate in building a trustworthy data space ecosystem, aligning with the national policy of a unified data market.

We will continue to uphold the spirit of open collaboration, joining hands with stakeholders from all sectors to advance data governance standards in China and globally. We welcome more like-minded individuals and organizations to join us in writing a brilliant new chapter for the data era.
